JZW Architects opened its doors just before the turn of the century with a focus on strong client relationships in the residential field. After five years of designing successful homes, we decided to expand our portfolio with a focus on retail and medical office projects.

With the project developer as the top priority, we have grown the firm over the past decade into one of the preeminent firms for dental, medical, and resort work along the Wasatch Front. This expansion has led to a growth in the firm leadership and an expansion from our single North Salt Lake office to an additional North Salt Office, along with offices in Heber and Layton. The firm is headed by Paul Warnock, Pete Meuzelaar, Brian Zaitz, and Eric Jones, with each of the partners focused on their projects of greatest experience.

Our goal is to bring an intense client focus to each project we touch. We accomplish this goal by creating strong identity within our project studios and assigning each project to the correct studio to ensure the highest level of client service. A growth in firm size has never been a priority for us, but in order to take care of our clients the firm has grown to include 8 licensed architects and over 40 total staff. We have also increased our footprint to include all the western United States, and Paul has taken up flying our Cessna 210 to allow for quick response to remote clients.

Our focus on strong client relationships has allowed us to develop relationships with many corporate clients including Deseret Book, Maverik Stores, St. Regis Hotels and Resorts, and Vail Resorts.

In 2011 JZW Architects began a relationship with the National Park Service. As a contractor for the park service we travel to parks around the country and perform condition assessment work on leased facilities. It is great to get out of the office every once and a while, and we even have a few hours each trip to enjoy the park!

We aren’t sure what the future holds in store for us, but we are excited to make the most of each opportunity.
